EN-FM Series
1Nm to 15Nm Digital Servo Drive

 

Overview

The En-Series drives are stand-alone, fully digital brushless servo drives designed and built to reliably provide high performance and flexibility without sacrificing ease of use.
Whether the drives are utilized in base drive only applications or with a closed loop controller, setup can be achieved in just minutes with no-charge PowerTools software. The use of a State-Space algorithm makes tuning very simple and forgiving. The drives are designed to operate with up to a 10 :1 inertia mismatch right out of the box. Higher (50 :1 and more) inertial mismatches are possible with two simple parameter settings.

EN Base Drive Operation
The base EN drive can be easily controlled with single and multi-axis controllers, PLCs and host controllers for medium power applications. The analog torque or velocity modes can be used with classic position controllers using analog outputs and encoder inputs. The pulse mode is ideal for use with low-cost PLC stepper controllers.

FM Control Modules
FM control modules provide EN drives with "snap-on" functionality for Indexing (FM-2), Programming (FM-3) and Advanced Programming (FM-4). This modular approach allows users to choose the level of advanced machine control they need, based on application parameters.

FM-2 Indexing Module
The FM-2 module enhances EN drives by adding positioning capability including Jog, Home and index functions. This module also includes additional I/O with 8 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs.

FM-3 Programming Module
The FM-3 module transforms the EN into a fully programmable single axis motion controller with 8 additional digital inputs and 4 additional digital outputs.

FM-4 Advanced Programming Module
The FM-4 Advanced Programming module has all of the features of the FM-3 with added ability to create complex motion profiles for sophisticated applications. This module also includes high speed data capture, summation of multiple motion profiles, program multi-tasking plus a range of other parameters.

Easy Set-up
With Powertools™ interface software, no previous programming experience is required.

Power Tools FM Software
The Epsilon is very easy to commission and program using
PowerTools FM software. This Windows™-based programming environment makes extensive use of drag and drop editing, tabbed setup screens and hierarchical views.
PowerTools FM is used to select the operating mode and
motor, configure I/O, set velocity limits and torque levels, and monitor drive and I/O Status.
